The Gift of Clean Beauty campaign is a giving and shopping initiative powered by our Conscious Black Beauty Movement. Through this campaign, we partner with clean, transparent beauty brands to encourage our community to choose products that are safer for our bodies and aligned with our health. Each participating brand offers a special code, and a portion of those purchases supports the California Black Health Network’s work to advance health equity for Black women and families. By choosing these brands all year long, consumers aren’t just buying beauty products — they’re helping reduce toxic exposure in our communities and supporting a future where Black beauty and Black health are honored together
Why “Clean Beauty”?
The products we use every day from haircare to skincare can either nurture our health or quietly harm it. We are disproportionately exposed to beauty products containing toxins linked to cancer, hormone disruption, and reproductive harm. Clean beauty isn’t just a trend. For us, it’s a form of self-preservation and empowerment.
Through the “The Gift of Clean Beauty” Campaign, CBHN bridges consumer awareness, brand accountability, and public health education, turning every purchase into a step toward our communities adopting clean beauty as their standard.
How can you support Clean Beauty?
You can support clean beauty by being more intentional about what you put on your body and who you choose to buy from. Small steps add up, especially when we’re thinking about long-term health for ourselves, our families, and our communities.
Here are a few ways to start:
- Start where you are: take a look at the products you use every day and choose one or two to swap for cleaner options.
- Shop with intention: use the Gift of Clean Beauty campaign codes when purchasing from participating brands so your dollars also support CBHN’s work.
- Read labels: look for shorter ingredient lists, avoid products with strong artificial fragrances, and choose brands that are transparent about what they use.
- Support Black and BIPOC-owned clean beauty brands: uplift the makers who are creating products with our communities in mind.
- Share what you learn: tell a friend, post about your swaps, or recommend a brand you trust.
- Ask questions: when in stores or online, don’t be afraid to ask brands about ingredients, safety, and sourcing.
Every cleaner swap, every intentional purchase, and every conversation moves us closer to a world where Black beauty does not come at the cost of Black health. Your choices matter, and together we can make clean, conscious beauty the norm and not the exception.
